NSW captain Boyd Cordner has ended any doubts over his status for State of Origin III after training with the team for the first time this camp.

Cordner has been unable to train for the opening six days of camp due to a calf strain, but finally took to the field in Sunday's opposed session against the Blues' under-20s team.

Forward Jack de Belin said "it wouldn't be right" if Cordner didn't take his place at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday and lift the shield at the end of the match.

"He's pretty special to be honest, the amount of professionalism and rehab and everything he's put into it," de Belin said before Monday's training session.

"Knowing Boyd, he'll be fine. He'll be right to go."

Confirmation of Boyd's health will be a huge boost to the Blues side after the Sydney Roosters star claimed man-of-the-match honours in game two.

He was the only Blues forward to crack the 100-metre barrier and also scored a controversial penalty try in the first half.

"He's been there for the first two games and been our leader on and off the field, it wouldn't be right without him being there," de Belin said.
