An outstanding 10-mark game against Melbourne has led to Charlie Curnow being the fifth AFL Rising Star nomination this season for Carlton.

The Blues key forward also kicked two goals and was high among their best in Sunday's eight-point loss to Melbourne.

Curnow joins David Cunningham, Sam Petrevski-Seton, Caleb Marchbank and Jack Silvagni as this year's Carlton nominees.

No other club has had more than two.

Curnow is a first-round pick, with Carlton using the No.12 selection to recruit him in the 2015 draft.

The younger brother of Blues midfielder Ed played six games last season and has missed only one match this year for a career total of 20.
