BlueScope says Arrium owes it $10 million

BlueScope says it has a responsibility to its stakeholders to mitigate any further risk from its $10 million exposure to in-administration Arrium.

BlueScope says it is owed about $10 million by Arrium and is trying to recover some of the money from the troubled steel and mining group.

BlueScope says it supplies flat steel products to its fellow BHP offshoot and buys long steel products from it.

Arrium was placed in voluntary administration on Thursday following discussions with its lenders.

"Whilst acknowledging this is a challenging time for Arrium, BlueScope has a responsibility to its stakeholders to mitigate any further risk from its exposure to Arrium and will be working with Arrium's appointed administrators accordingly," BlueScope said in a statement.
