The Munich firm has redrawn the car's signature twin-kidney grille and added LED lights to the spec sheet. There are a number of minor interior changes too.
The car makes its debut at the upcoming Geneva show in early March.
Grabbing attention are two new diesel units, both with the eight-speed automatic transmission fitted to all X3 models as standard.
The new X3 xDrive 28d comes with a four-cylinder two-litre turbo-diesel producing 180 horsepower, enough to propel the sporty X3 from 0 to 100km/h in less than eight seconds.
Buyers can also specify an even more powerful diesel unit with 240 horsepower on tap. Like the larger X5, the X3 now comes with rear-wheel drive as an option.
