Boardwalk along Dubai island planned

The Dubai Tourism Ministry has announced plans for a boardwalk along the crescent island which surrounds Palm Jumeirah.

The new walkway will stretch the entire length of the crescent that forms an 11-kilometre breakwater for Palm Jumeirah, an artificial archipelago in the outline of a palm tree. The walkway will be completed by two 100-metre piers out into the Gulf at both ends.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy views of the sea and Dubai's skyline from glass-walled restaurants and cafes situated along the route.
