Body of missing Qld cyclist found

Police have found the body of a cyclist who had been missing for about 24 hours in Brisbane's Toohey State Forest.

The body of a missing cyclist has been found in a state forest on Brisbane's southside.

Peter Jacobson, 42, left home on his mountain bike with his Staffordshire terrier in tow around 5.30pm on Friday.

He rode to the Toohey State Forest but failed to return, sparking a land and air search.

Searchers found Mr Jacobson's body shortly after 4pm (AEST) on Saturday.

His dog had stayed with him and was unharmed, police said.

Police investigations indicate Mr Jacobson had a cycling accident in the forest.
