Bogut beats NZ centre in NBA thriller

Golden State have beaten Oklahoma City in an NBA thriller, with Australian centre Andrew Bogut earning bragging rights over New Zealand's Steven Adams.

P - Australian centre Andrew Bogut outgunned New Zealand counterpart Steven Adams as the Golden State Warriors recorded a thrilling 116-115 NBA home win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Oakland on Thursday night.

Bogut grabbed seven rebounds, three steals, two assists and six points as his side snatched a dramatic victory after blowing a 14-point fourth-quarter lead.

Andre Iguodala gave the Warriors their biggest win of the season with a turnaround jumper from the baseline at the buzzer.

Russell Westbrook's three-pointer with 2.3 seconds remaining had put the Thunder ahead, but Warriors coach Mark Jackson called a timeout to regroup and David Lee kept a cool head as he inbounded the ball from near half court.

Iguodala caught the ball and extended over Thabo Sefolosha for the winning shot, sending the sell-out crowd of 19,596 into a frenzy. He sprinted toward half court and was mobbed by teammates.

Iguodala finished with 14 points and nine assists.

Westbrook tallied 31 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the visitors, while Serge Ibaka had 27 points and 13 rebounds and Kevin Durant finished with 20 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.

Durant was called for a technical foul in the final seconds of the first half after shoving Bogut, who played 29 minutes of the clash.

Adams, the brother of shot putter Valerie Adams who won gold at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, was starting in the NBA for the second time after a bereavement left incumbent big man Kendrick Perkins out of the team.

The 20-year-old, taken with pick No.12 in this year's draft, played 14 minutes and scored three points in his first NBA clash with Bogut.

In Thursday's other NBA match, the Houston Rockets pipped the Knicks 109-106 at New York's Madison Square Garden.

The Rockets overcame a 45-point, 10-rebound night from Carmelo Anthony to hold off the Knicks.

Houston's James Harden finished with 36 points and nine boards one night after sitting out an overtime loss in Philadelphia with a bruised left foot, while former Knicks sensation Jeremy Lin added 21 points, five rebounds and three assists for the visitors.
