Bogut makes us stronger: Curry

It's not the minutes the man plays but rather the impact he has in them, says Steph Curry of Golden State teammate Andrew Bogut.

Steph Curry may be Golden State's money man on court but the NBA's leading point scorer this season knows Andrew Bogut is helping him cash the cheques.

In a defence-orientated game Curry top scored with 27 points against fellow title aspirants San Antonio on Thursday as Bogut had just six.

But with 11 boards, two blocked shots and three assists in his 22 minutes on court, the big Australian's contribution could not be discounted.

And Curry certainly wasn't playing it down.

"The way especially San Antonio like to move the ball and force you into rotations and get into the paint, he's capable of being physical and blocking shots, and altering shots if he doesn't get a piece of it," Curry told AAP.

"He gives us a stronger line-up on the defensive end and no matter how many minutes he plays, when he's out there he makes an impact.

"We need everybody at full strength to do what we need to do this year and Bogut is a big part of that."

Curry intimated that the Spurs side of 2015/16 was a step up from the title-winning one of the previous season.

"Having won 67 (games) last year we were obviously a very confident group, I wouldn't have guessed we would do better than last year," he said.

"Two teams in the history of this game have reached where we are now, that's something that should be recognised and everybody should be proud of that.

"Whether we get 73 or not - this is a big milestone."

The Warriors visit Memphis and San Antonio before hosting Memphis in their final regular season game as they chase history.
