San Francisco 49ers NFL recruit Jarryd Hayne has possibly scored himself the world's tallest public relations manager, and he doesn't have to pay him a cent.

Australian NBA star Andrew Bogut, who knows plenty about being a success in a multi-billion dollar US sports league, has been doing his best to educate the US media about what a talent Hayne is.

"He's a wrecking ball," the 213cm tall Bogut, who plays for the San Francisco Bay area Golden State Warriors, told the San Jose Mercury News.

"He's one of the best rugby league players in the world.

"So if you guys don't know him, go on YouTube and watch his highlights."

Bogut, who grew up playing Australian Rules in Melbourne and is a mad Essendon fan, also attempted to explain to the US media the league skills Hayne could bring to the NFL.

"Hopefully, he can show what he can do," Bogut said.

"He's a big guy, 6'2", 6'3" (188cm).

"I don't know what he is in pounds, 240 or 250, (110kg) and he can run with the best of them."

If Hayne does make it from a practice squad to the field for the 49ers' 2015-16 season, there will likely be one extra, oversized viewer of the team's games.

"It might make me watch a couple of football games," Bogut said.
