AP - Andrew Bogut's NBA-leading Golden State Warriors equalled a 56-year-old club record in handing the Denver Nuggets the most lopsided thrashing of the season.
Championship speculation continues to grow around the Warriors who improved their season record to 33-6 with Monday's 122-79 blowout against the Nuggets - their 16th straight home win matching the record set by the then-Philadelphia Warriors in 1959.
Australian centre Bogut fulfilled his key defensive duties and pulled down eight rebounds while providing four assists but mostly left the scoring to others in his 22 minutes on court as the Warriors gave court time to all 13 active players and the bench tallied 67 points.
Sharpshooters Klay Thompson led five Warriors players in double figures with 22. Stephen Curry added 20 points and eight assists for the Warriors while Shaun Livingston and Leandro Barbosa each contributed 12 points and James Michael McAdoo had 11 in the rout.
McAdoo's performance came on the same day he signed a 10-day contract after getting called up from the NBA Development League.
The Warriors have been promoted to favourites to win the NBA title with some US bookmakers, ahead of defending champions San Antonio Spurs.
They have scored at least 100 points in 11 straight games and are the only team in the NBA to win more than one match by 40-or-more points this season.
Monday's win topped their 126-86 victory over Philadelphia on December 30 for the largest victory margin in the league this season.
The Warriors weren't the only lopsided winners, as the NBA celebrated the Martin Luther King jnr holiday with a 12-game slate weighted with day games.
In Washington, the Wizards defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 111-76.
The Wizards led the final 42 minutes of the contest and were up by double digits over the final 38 1/2 minutes.
Marcin Gortat paced Washington with 20 points, one of seven Wizards players in double figures.
The Charlotte Hornets rode a dominant second quarter to a 105-80 rout of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Hornets connected on 12 of 22 from three-point range to notch their seventh win in eight games.
Gerald Henderson and PJ.Hairston each hit three from long range, Henderson leading the Hornets with 17 points.
The longest single-season losing streak in the New York Knicks' history is finally over.
Carmelo Anthony scored 24 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Knicks snapped their 16-game NBA skid with a 99-92 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.
It was a close-run thing, as the Pelicans cut a 15-point first-half deficit to just one with less than two minutes to play.
But Spanish guard Jose Calderon came up with his biggest basket of his first season in New York when he drained a three-pointer with 32.7 seconds remaining to give the Knicks a four-point lead and they held on for their first win since December 12.
Anthony sealed the outcome by making three of four free throws down the stretch.
Langston Galloway added 21 points and Amare Stoudemire chipped in 14 and six rebounds off the bench for the Knicks, who had just four turnovers.
