Usain Bolt has included four young Australians in his All Stars track and field squad for next week's inaugural Nitro Series in Melbourne.

Pole vaulter Nina Kennedy, long jumper Naa Anang and middle distance runners Brittany McGowan and Matthew Ramsden were chosen to compete alongside some of the legends of the sport.

Nine-time Olympic champion Bolt has also called on the services of fellow Jamaican sprint superstars Asafa Powell and Michael Frater and Sally Pearson's long-time 100m hurdles rival and 2008 Olympic gold medallist Dawn Harper-Nelson from the United States.

"Of course, I'm going to bring my fellow Jamaicans - they were the first to be picked," said the 30-year-old Bolt, who plans to extend his career through until the world championships in London in August.

"The team has so much talent across all the events so I'm expecting us to put on a good show, and win, of course.

"I'm happy to have the four young Australians - it's going to be tough for them when we hand Team Australia some trouble, but they are on my team now."

The 19-year-old Ramsey will take on the likes of countryman and Rio Olympics 1500m finalist Ryan Gregson - who is a key member of the home team - in non-traditional events such as the elimination mile.

"There may be guys who are faster than me on paper but that won't stop me from doing everything in my power to win," said Ramsden, a finalist at last year's world junior championships.

"I can easily say this is the fittest I've ever been in my life so I guess the sky's the limit for me at Nitro."

Kennedy, 19, is a former holder of the junior pole vault world record.

She made her major championships debut at the 2015 world titles in Beijing but missed out on selection for the Rio Olympics.

"I'm feeling a range of emotions," Kennedy said.

"(Bolt) is the best athlete this sport has ever seen, and looking up to him from such a young age makes competing in the same team as him an unthinkable experience."

The other teams involved in the series are England, New Zealand, China and Japan.

The three meets will take place on February 4, 9 and 11 at Lakeside Stadium.
