Bones found under the floor boards of an old house in Queensland are not human, police say.

Skeletal remains found under the floorboards of an abandoned Queensland house are not human.

A crime scene was established at an old house at Ipswich, west of Brisbane, on Monday after the bones were found during renovations.

Police on Tuesday said tests had shown they were not human, and officers were in the process of returning the property to its owners.
