Boomer Jawai suffers neck injury

A neck injury has put Australian basketballer Nathan Jawai in hospital in Turkey complaining of numbness in his left arm and leg.

Australian basketballer Nathan Jawai has suffered a serious neck injury playing for Turkish club Galatasaray against Greek side Olympiakos.

"Our player Nathan Jawai suffered a neck trauma after a blow to his chin during the Olympiakos match," Galatasaray announced on its official website on Friday.

The 27-year-old was hospitalised and taken to intensive care, complaining of dizziness and numbness in his left arm and leg, the club said.

Jawai scored 22 points during the match but could not prevent Galatasaray's 67-78 defeat.
