Police have arrested a man accused of fleeing his car with a body in the boot on the NSW south coast.

Authorities are investigating whether the body in the car is missing Canberra woman Daniella D'Addario.

The 35-year-old and her boyfriend Josaia "Joey" Vosikata, 27, were reported missing in the ACT on Monday.

A 27-year-old man was arrested in the Bermagui area and was to be taken to Batemans Bay police station.

After being stopped by police at 8.30pm on Wednesday night, the man fled into nearby bushland, leaving police to make the grim discovery in the boot.

"We believe there may have been some sort of domestic relationship that had soured. As a result of that information we were on the lookout for that vehicle" Detective Superintendent Peter O'Brien said earlier on Thursday.
