Boral boss doubles pay package

The chief executive of building supplies company Boral doubled his pay package to $4.6 million in 2013/14.

Boral boss Mike Kane has more than doubled his full year pay package after the building supplies maker returned to profitability.

Mr Kane's total pay climbed to $4.6 million during the 2013/14 financial year, which was more than twice the $2.044 million in the previous year.

His remuneration package was boosted by $1.365 million in short-term cash bonuses after Boral reached its earnings targets.

Mr Kane's fixed salary also rose from $1.494 million in 2012/13 to $1.696 million.

Boral made a net profit of $173.3 million for 2013/14, which followed a $212 million loss the previous year.
