Shadow treasurer Chris Bowen says a change of federal Labor leadership is "not going to happen".

Commentators have suggested that with the Liberals dumping Tony Abbott, there is pressure within the caucus to move on Bill Shorten, whose personal approval rating has been low while Labor's two-party polling has been solid.

"It's not going to happen," Mr Bowen told Sky News on Tuesday, adding that he had never seen Labor so united in his 11 years in parliament.
