A former Supreme court judge has been asked to lead a review that could bring justice to the families of three murdered Bowraville children, almost 25 years since the killings.
The New South Wales government yesterday tabled its response to an upper house inquiry into the decades-long saga.
It followed the disappearance of three Aboriginal children on the state's north coast over several months from 1990 to 1991.
James Wood has been asked to lead a review of the state's double jeopardy laws, which prevented a man aquitted of two of the killings from being retried for the same cases.
