Boy critical after pulled from lagoon

An eight-year-old boy who was pulled unconscious from a popular Cairns lagoon remains in a critical condition in hospital.

A boy is fighting for his life after being pulled unconscious from a Cairns lagoon.

The eight-year-old was taken to Townsville Hospital on Sunday where he remains in a critical condition, the Cairns Post reports.

It is believed he was part of a large family group swimming at the Esplanade Lagoon when the incident occurred.
