A two-year-old boy had to be rescued from a hot car after a relative allegedly left him locked inside with the windows up for 40 minutes while he went shopping in Perth.
Police were called to Terrace Road, East Perth on Sunday afternoon as the temperature reached about 32C, and broke in to the car to give the distressed child some water.
A 23-year-old man has been charged with being a carer who left a child in a car without supervision which was likely to cause distress, and is scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on November 10.
