Boy suffers burns in SA house fire

A three-year-old boy has suffered burns to his face and arms after a fire tore through a home in regional South Australia.

A child suffered burns to his arms and face as a home was destroyed by fire in regional South Australia.

The fire broke out in the property at Gerard, in The Riverland, about 12pm on Sunday.

The injured three-year-old boy is being flown to the Women's and Children's Hospital in Adelaide, an SA Ambulance Service spokesman told AAP.

Damage to the home was estimated at $300,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
