Boys arrested after Vic police pursuit

Two boys aged 14 and 16 have been arrested after a police pursuit in a stolen car.

Two teenage boys have been arrested after leading police on two separate chases through northern Victoria in an allegedly stolen car.

One of the boys was just 14 and the other was aged 16.

Police began chasing a car in Shepparton late on Monday night after it failed to stop but called off the pursuit shortly after for safety reasons.

About 40 minutes later, another police unit tried to stop the same car, which had already been reported as stolen.

A second chase was called off but the car later crashed into a fence and the boys were arrested after a short pursuit on foot.

A third offender is yet to be found.

The boys are being questioned by police.

Police allege they found cannabis in the vehicle.
