Australia's Matt Brabham will move a step closer to his IndyCar dream at a test day with Andretti Autosport later this month.
The 21-year-old grandson of three-time Formula One world champion Sir Jack Brabham will get the chance to show his skills at Iowa Speedway ahead of the IndyCar Series race there on July 18.
It will be Brabham's first fully-fledged test run in an IndyCar.
Brabham currently races in the Indy Lights development series, a feeder championship to the main IndyCar championship.
Each team has two test days per year to nominate an Indy Lights driver to get behind the wheel.
Brabham could hardly contain his excitement at being given the chance to drive Marco Andretti's Honda-powered car.
"I'm absolutely thrilled," Brabham told indycar.com.
"I've dreamed about driving Indy car my whole life ever since they started racing the Gold Coast and going to the racetrack as a kid.
"I am focused on (the test) and we'll see how it goes. There is a lot of stuff Andretti Autosport wants to go through and I want to be a beneficial person to the team. I'm definitely ready."
