Brambles chairman Graham Kraehe will leave the company in September, and will be replaced by former Leighton chairman Stephen Johns.

Mr Kraehe on Wednesday announced he would stand down after 14 years with the Brambles, including six years as chairman.

His replacement, who has been a member of the company's board of directors since 2004, praised Mr Kraehe's contribution to the company.

"On behalf of the board and everyone at Brambles, I wish to thank Graham for his outstanding contribution," he said.

"During Graham's tenure as chairman, Brambles has transformed itself through the establishment of our strategy to focus on and expand our position as the world's leading supply-chain equipment pooling company."

Mr Johns, who was previously chairman of construction giant Leighton Holdings and Spark Infrastructure and a non-executive director of Westfield Group, will replace Mr Kraehe from the end of September.
