Growth in its Americas market has helped pallet and container provider Brambles lift its full year net profit by 11 per cent to $US640.6 million ($A717.08 million).

Its underlying profit of $US1.06 billion, up five per cent, includes earnings from its document storage and destruction business Recall that it plans to sell.

The company said the improvement was due to growth in the Americas region of its pallets segment and global re-usable plastic crates segment, along with a resilient performance elsewhere around the globe.

The company, among Australia's 20 largest on the stock exchange, declared a final dividend of 13.5 cents, 30 per cent franked. That's up half a cent from the same period the previous year.
