One-day captain Darren Bravo says something must be done in West Indies cricket after the humiliating defeat in the Test series against New Zealand.
The 30-year-old, overlooked for the series lost 2-0 by the tourists, is determined not to let their poor display over five days extend into the the shorter format.
"If we're all honest with ourselves it's been very embarrassing, to see what state our cricket has come to.
"We all as players must take full responsibility and full blame and decide to take it upon ourselves.
"We have to do something different," adding that the West Indies Cricket Board will need to shake things up if the players don't perform.
"We can't keep playing the same players, the same team, the same squad, the same results."
Test captain Darren Sammy, who is part of the limited overs squad, was on the same page after the Hamilton Test defeat saying: "There are tough decisions to be made ... some careers are on the line. We cannot continue like this, in any organisation you need to show graft and commitment."
Bravo, who is being kept out of the Test side by fellow allrounder Sammy, has urged those who played in the Test series to consign that to the recesses of their minds ahead of the five one-dayers which begin in Auckland on Boxing Day.
"The guys have put that behind them, for me as a captain I encourage the guys to be themselves and go back to the flamboyant way of playing cricket with a smile on our faces."
It helps that there are a host of new faces not tainted by the Test performances and Bravo can already sense a change in the group.
"We have a different type of energy now, we all feel comfortable in the short formats of the game," Bravo said.
On their recent tour of India they showed their shortcomings in the Test arena don't always carry over into 50-over cricket to force the three-match ODI series to a decider after innings defeats in both Tests.
However, they will be without injured batting heavyweights Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Marlon Samuels for the matches.
