Brazen man with dog nicks cop's wheels

A man has walked through the front door of a secure Perth CBD building with his dog and made off with four tyres from an undercover police car.

A brazen thief entered a secure Perth CBD building with his dog to nab four tyres and rims from an unmarked police car parked in the basement.

CCTV footage captured the man walking through the front door of the Adelaide Terrace building in the early hours of June 13.

The vehicle was later found without its wheels and propped up on bricks in the basement car park, which requires a pass to access.

The parking spot was sectioned off with crime scene tape and the owner of the vehicle appeared to have replaced the wheels by the end of the day.

A police spokeswoman said it was not known if the offender knew the car was a police vehicle as the building houses various businesses.

Police would like to speak to the man on the CCTV footage, who they believe may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

The man is described as being of medium build and was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap, a high visibility work shirt and long dark pants.

A spokesman for the property manager was unavailable for comment.

The building's owner was being sought for comment.
