Household appliance maker Breville is counting on a sprinkle of Christmas cheer to lift its performance, amid challenging business conditions.
"The key trading period of November and December is always crucial to the group's results, not only for the first half but also for the full year," chairman Steven Fisher told shareholders at its annual general meeting on Wednesday.
"It is too early to provide more definitive guidance," he added.
Breville, which owns popular brands Kambrook and Ronson, has struggled over the last year as stiff competition in the local market and rising costs associated with the strengthening US dollar have taken their toll.
The company had reported a 4.3 per cent dip in full year 2014/15 profit to $46.7 million.
Mr Fisher said trading in the first four months of this financial year was as per expectations, although the company continued to be impacted by the strengthening US dollar.
Breville shares fell eight cents to close at $6.45.
