The Red Cross says it is working to help the people of Sudan's Darfur region to become self-sufficient, even amid ongoing violence in some areas.

The International Committee of the Red Cross is providing hundreds of thousands of people in Darfur with food aid and farming resources.

 

A spokesman for the Red Cross in Sudan, Rafiulla Qureshi told Ildi Amon, while food insecurity persists in some areas, there has also been some improvement.
