Brisbane braces for measles outbreak

People living on Brisbane's north side are being urged to watch for any symptoms of measles after a university student was diagnosed with the infection.

Brisbane residents are being warned to watch out for a measles outbreak after a student was diagnosed with the highly infectious illness.

The Taringa student was diagnosed after returning from a trip overseas and spent time at the airport, University of Queensland St Lucia campus and Indooroopilly Shopping Centre.

Initial symptoms include fever, a runny noise, moist cough and sore and red eyes.
