Brisbane executive resigns over public poo

A 64-year-old man has been fined $378 for public nuisance and resigned from his aged care job after being caught defecating outside a Brisbane unit complex.

A Brisbane corporate executive snapped pooing outside an apartment complex during an early morning jog has been fined $378 and resigned from his aged-care job.

Andrew Douglas Macintosh, 64, was charged with public nuisance last month after being photographed in the act by a Greenslopes resident who complained of a serial "pooper" outside their apartment.

Macintosh was arrested when police confronted him at an address on Logan Road on May 21.

Greenslopes resident Steve Scott hid in the dark with his camera to catch him in the act after observing his unsightly deposits for a year.

Mr Scott snapped the man with his trousers down and passed the images to police and shared them on social media.

"The person in this photo has regularly been leaving his human waste (s**t) on our path and others in the Greenslopes area for quite a long time," he wrote on Facebook.

Macintosh faced Holland Park Magistrates Court this week before his charge was downgraded to an infringement notice, resulting in the fine.

He resigned as director of strata management at Aveo on Thursday after his identity was revealed.

"Until yesterday, Aveo Group was not aware of the charges laid against Mr Macintosh," the company said in a statement.

"Aveo Group is distressed and disappointed at the alleged incidents concerning Mr Macintosh.

"Aveo will continue to extend its support to Mr Macintosh for help that he may require."
