Brisbane man explains decision to fight IS

Brisbane man Ashley Dyball, 23, says the Islamic State must be stopped and he is willing to die as he fights the terrorists in the Middle East.

A Brisbane man fighting against Islamic State militants in the Middle East says he's willing to die to liberate innocent women and children.

Ashley Dyball, who calls himself Mitchell Scott, has posted a message on Facebook urging his family and friends to understand why he has taken up arms.

"This is my life my decision - I can sit at home doing nothing with myself or I can stay here and help liberate the innocent children and women to give them a better chance at life that we all so luckily have," he wrote.
