Police are hunting for a sexual predator who indecently assaulted a girl and tried to remove the clothes of a second child in Brisbane.

Police say the man entered a home in suburban Capalaba just before 8pm (AEST) on Sunday.

"He approached a young girl in the lounge room, spoke to her and attempted to remove her clothing," police said.

"He then approached a second girl in the room and indecently assaulted her before fleeing."

Neither girl suffered any physical injuries as a result of the incident.

Police are seeking a man described as Caucasian, about 165cm tall, with fair skin. He is aged in his early 20s and has dark hair.
