Some of Brisbane's most famous buildings and bridges will go blue for a week to raise autism awarness.

The city's Victoria and Kurilpa bridges, City Hall and Reddacliff Place will be illuminated by blue lights on Monday in the lead-up to World Autism Day on April 2.

Autism Queensland says it wants the whole state to get in the spirit to promote awareness throughout the month of April.

"The sky is the limit in what you choose to do; dress in blue, light your house or street in blue, organise a morning tea with a blue theme or a Go Blue fundraiser at your school," Autism Queensland chief executive Rod Cameron said in a statement.

"We want everyone to have loads of fun when they Go Blue for Autism and Autism Queensland, which helps raise awareness of autism and valuable funds for the services we provide to Queenslanders with autism and their families."
