Broad, Devon Smith escape with AFL fines

Four players from the AFL clash between Richmond and Essendon are facing fines for minor indiscretions, having been charged by the match review officer.

Richmond defender Nathan Broad and Essendon's Devon Smith have escaped with fines for indiscretions in Friday night's AFL match at the MCG.

Smith, who was booked by the match review officer for attempting to strike Kamdyn McIntosh, can accept a $1500 fine.

Broad, charged with engaging in misconduct against Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti, will also be docked $1500 if he submits an early plea.

Bombers Dyson Heppell and David Myers can accept $1500 and $1000 fines respectively for making careless contact with an umpire.
