But the Queensland schoolgirl, better known for her platform diving, worked her way through the field to finish 11th, guaranteeing her a start in this week's final.

Perth teenager Maddison Keeney showed her enormous potential by leading the field after two dives, but a mistake on her third dive cost her dearly and she finished in 18th position.
