Former Brisbane great Kevin Walters says current Broncos halves Ben Hunt and Anthony Milford have the talent and attitude to take the NRL club to the top.
The pair was hailed by coach Wayne Bennett following a leading role in a 42-16 demolition of Wests Tigers at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.
Hunt was named man of the match for his display and Milford set up one try with a grubber kick and had a key hand in another just before halftime, as the Broncos racked up their seventh straight win.
Walters, a five-time premiership winner with the Broncos and now an assistant coach at the club, says there's no reason Hunt and Milford can't become one of the game's best halves combinations.
"They're two great young fellas coming through and the best thing about those two is their attitude," Walters told AAP.
"They love playing for this club and each week they go out and do their best. You can't ask for anything more than that. Obviously they've got a load of ability on top of that which makes things a little bit easier."
Hunt's display was characterised by an early break in which he got through the Tigers' line and jinked his way 40 metres downfield in a play that would end in the game's opening try and the first of three for the day for winger Lachlan Maranta.
"They want to get better and the best thing is they're working hard on the themselves to get better," Walters said.
"They've got great running games, the both of them, so we're encouraging them to run the ball.
"It's all about building combinations and relationships ... we're still at the bottom of the hill to where they've got to get to."
