Broncos relish tough run to finals

Veteran Corey Parker says Brisbane will relish a tough run into the finals and see it as a timely gauge to their NRL title hopes.

What seems a nightmare run into the finals for most will be used as a timely yardstick for NRL premiership hopes Brisbane.

The Broncos' hopes of winning their first minor premiership since 2000 will be put to the test when they tackle fellow top four teams Sydney Roosters (away), South Sydney (away) and finals aspirants Melbourne (home) before the playoffs.

But Brisbane veteran Corey Parker insists they will relish the tough run, saying it will give them a welcome insight into their title claims.

"That's the run home you've got to have," he told Sky Sports Radio's Big Sports Breakfast.

"If anything it will give us some clarity on where you really are going into the semi-finals.

"What better way than to play those three top sides?"

Brisbane snapped a worrying two-game losing run by thrashing St George Illawarra 32-6 last round.

Broncos hooker Andrew McCullough looked forward to Saturday night's Allianz Stadium clash with the Roosters despite appearing to damage his ankle in the last round win.

McCullough limped off late in the first half but returned with 20 minutes left on the clock and backed himself to run out against the Roosters.

"It felt bad when I did it but it came good," he told the Broncos website.

"It was a bit stiff but I will be right to play next week."
