London Broncos may yet be saved from administration after announcing that talks regarding their future had reached a "positive stage".
The troubled Super League club had said they would appoint administrators if they couldn't reach an agreement over their future and a deadline of Tuesday was set.
However, with a possible deal in sight, they have been given an extra 10 days to finalise a rescue package.
A statement issued on behalf of the club said: "Negotiations to cement a permanent home for London Broncos and fulfil next season's fixtures are at a positive stage.
"The club will be instructing its lawyers to file a further Notice of Intention to Appoint Administrators at Court, which shall be effective for 10 business days. During this time the club are hopeful that a deal can be concluded in order to ensure the club's future."
The Broncos are currently without a home ground after their agreement to play at the Twickenham Stoop, the base of Harlequins' rugby union team, expired at the end of the 2013 season.
There have since been reports owner David Hughes has threatened to pull out of the running of the Broncos after failing to receive guarantees over the club's Super League future following the decision to reinstate promotion and relegation from the end of next season.
The Broncos are due to play their opening game at Widnes on February 16.
