Brooke Mueller is allegedly trying to stop her twins having a test that could link their erratic behaviour to her.

The 36-year-old actress has four-year-old boys Bob and Max with her ex-husband Charlie Sheen. The former couple have been engaged in a custody battle over the children since Mueller went into rehab for drug abuse in 2013.

During her stay in a facility, Sheen's other former spouse Denise Richards took the youngsters in. She eventually said she could no longer care for them due to their difficult behaviour and they are now with Mueller's brother Scott.

TMZ reports Mueller previously agreed for the twins to be tested for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), which will determine whether her substance abuse caused damage to them before they were born.

However it seems she has now changed her mind, with TMZ claiming "at the last second she did an about face and filed legal docs to block the test".

Mueller allegedly believes the kids don't have any problems, whereas Sheen is said to think they have "real issues and an FAS test could help in the treatment".

Last year Richards told the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) of Bob and Max's worrying and violent behaviour during their time with her.

She claims the boys attacked her daughters Sam and Lola - who she has with Sheen - and Eloise by strangling and punching them. Along with this Richards added they hurt other children at their school, as well as once reportedly punching a teacher.

Richards described them as being in a "zombie-like state" during their outbursts, in which they are also said to have tortured the family dog.

The 43-year-old actress blamed Mueller's lifestyle for the twins' bad conduct and claimed they suffered from nightmares after staying with their mother.
