Bubs appoints CEO after early successes

Bubs Australia has installed Nicholas Simms as chief executive after he secured several major distribution deals for the baby food maker.

Baby food maker Bubs Australia has appointed its infant formula commercial director as chief executive, five months after listing on the Australian Securities Exchange.

Nicholas Simms has been commercial director for infant milk formula since joining Bubs in 2016, and founder Kristy Carr has been fulfilling CEO duties as managing director.

"The board and I are unanimous in our support for his appointment as our business grows," said Mrs Carr, who will remain an executive director.

"Nicholas has been instrumental in securing many strategically important distribution agreements for Bubs both in Australia and Asian markets."

Bubs Australia listed on the ASX on January 3 through a reverse takeover of Hillcrest Litigation Services, and has since struck deals with Chemist Warehouse, Coles and Costco.

It has also announced a new distribution partnership in China, and its shares were up three cents, or 23 per cent, at 16 cents at 1255 AEST.
