Atlanta Hawks' Mike Budenholzer has been named the NBA's coach of the year, after guiding the club to a franchise-record 60 win season and the Eastern Conference crown.
Budenholzer received 513 points, including 67 first-place votes by a panel of 130 sportswriters and broadcasters who vote on the NBA's postseason awards.
Steve Kerr, who led the Golden State Warriors to a league-best 67-15 record and the Pacific Division title in his first season, was second with 471 points, including 56 first-place votes.
Jason Kidd of the Milwaukee Bucks was third with one first-place vote and 57 total points.
After posting a 38-44 record in his rookie season, Budenholzer oversaw a remarkable 22-game improvement to the Hawks (60-22), including a 19-game winning streak - the fifth longest in NBA history.
