Budget supply bills pass parliament

Government departments and usual business will be funded after the government's five budget appropriation bills passed the Senate.

Five bills to release billions of dollars for federal government departments, state governments and other usual expenditure under this year's budget passed the Senate on Tuesday.

The legislation discharges money from the Consolidated Revenue Fund and is very rarely opposed by opposition parties.
