Budget will have increased childcare services for disadvantaged

Thee federal government says next week's budget contains $850 million for childcare services for disadvantaged children.

The new early childhood safety net will include extra subsidies for families and communities to set up childcare facilities and a program to attract staff to work at them.

Social Services Minister Scott Morrison says some of the money would come from existing programs.

But he says most of the funding for the plan and for the Government's wider families package depends on the Senate voting for stalled savings measures from last year.
