Lichaa looked in extreme discomfort when he limped from the ground in the 65th minute, however coach Des Hasler played down the injury.

"It was more precautionary," Hasler said on Triple M.

"He's been tremendous during the off-season. He worked really hard on all aspects that you need to as a nine these days. We expect he'll be okay."

Hasler also pointed out back-up rake Craig Garvey was a player to watch.

"I'd keep an eye on him if he gets his opportunity," he said.

Friday night's match was Lichaa's first since suffering his 2015 campaign was prematurely ended by a ankle injury in August.

The Bulldogs next visit Penrith on Friday.
