Travis Cloke's move to the Western Bulldogs looks set to go ahead, with the former Collingwood star to gain a two-year AFL deal.

The 29-year-old's trade would be one of the highest-profile moves of the upcoming trade period.

Speculation about Cloke's future had been rife since the Magpies dropped him earlier this season for the Anzac Day blockbuster.

The 2010 premiership player was dropped three times this season and only managed 13 games as the Magpies missed the finals again.

Cloke is contracted to Collingwood for next season and has played 246 senior games since his 2005 debut.

But there were media reports on Thursday that Cloke would head to the Bulldogs, although it was understood the two clubs still had to work out his trade.

As recently as September 6, Magpies coach Nathan Buckley said it was not definite that Cloke would leave the club.
