Canterbury have lured another former player back to Belmore by appointing Andrew Farrar as their new general manager of football.
Less than a week after announcing ex-forward Dean Pay as their new NRL head coach, the Bulldogs continued their promise to overhaul their culture by bringing Farrar on board.
Farrar played 186 matches in the blue-and-white and appeared in three premierships.
"Andrew has a tremendous pedigree in the game of rugby league, having performed at the highest level as a player, coach and team manager," chairman Ray Dib said on Thursday.
"He has a great affinity with the Bulldogs, having played in three premierships and knows the culture of the club inside out.
"We are delighted that he will be able to bring all his football knowledge and experience to the role of general manager of football."
Farrar also played seven games for NSW State of Origin, as well as one Test, before trying his hand as coach of Illawarra (1997-98) and St George (2000-02).
He has been team manager of the Blues since 2014 and will perform the same role for Samoa during the upcoming 2017 World Cup.
"I have a great affinity for the Bulldogs and have greatly enjoyed my association with them as a player and board member," he said.
"It is a tremendous honour to be asked to take on the role of general manager of football and I look forward to working with new head coach Dean Pay and a talented group of players."
