Canterbury are reportedly set to kick off negotiations aimed at locking key trio David Klemmer, Moses Mbye and Josh Jackson into long-term contracts.
The three don't come out off contract until the end of next season, but coach Des Hasler is keen to retain them and the Bulldogs want to avoid any chance of a bidding battle with other NRL clubs.
"They won't be leaving Canterbury-Bankstown," Bulldogs legend Steve Mortimer told Fox Sports.
"I am a director of the board. I know Klemmer, Jackson and definitely Mbye have definitely been talked about."
Hasler has favoured investing in rising playmaker Mbye instead of re-signing halfback Trent Hodkinson, who will depart for Newcastle at season's end.
Mbye will form a potent halves pairing next year with former NSW five-eighth Josh Reynolds.
The 21-year-old's manager Simon Mammino said the young star's focus was on maintaining his strong form until the end of the season, when he would then look to start talks with the club.
"There's no real rush from our end, we're happy to let him play footy," Mammino said.
"He doesn't come off until the end of next year but he likes the club and we'll take little steps and see where it takes us."
With Frank Pritchard also leaving, it's understood Jackson is after a long-term extension like the three-year deal prop Sam Kasiano signed in March.
