The Western Bulldogs have backed up a strong AFL on-field showing in 2015 by posting a profit for the second straight year.

The Bulldogs announced a $388,000 profit on Friday in a year when they also had a record membership of 36,122 and returned to finals action for the first time since 2010.

"We've increased revenues over pretty much all income activities of the club including membership, sponsorship and other financial support from our members and supporters," said Bulldogs president Peter Gordon.
