Bum steer for Qld cops with hidden cash

A man allegedly tried to give police a bum steer by hiding a wad of cash between his buttock cheeks during a car search.

Police in Roma, in southwest Queensland, intercepted and searched the car at 5pm on Saturday.

The 22-year-old driver and 30-year-old passenger were arrested when police allegedly found drugs and a glass pipe in the car.

When police conducted further searches at the Roma station, a wad of cash allegedly fell from between the older man's buttocks.

The roll of bank notes totalled around $1000.

The man allegedly told police he was saving the cash for a motorbike.

The two men will appear in the Roma Magistrates Court on October 28 on drug-related charges.
