Glamorgan have signed Australian batsman Joe Burns for the remainder of their domestic T20 campaign.

Burns replaces the injured Shaun Marsh, who has been ruled out for the rest of the summer with a shoulder problem.

The English club hopes Burns will be available for selection in time for their match against Somerset on Friday.

Chief executive Hugh Morris said: "Shaun going home was a big loss but we've acted very quickly to get a replacement and have been fortunate to bring in someone of the calibre of Joe Burns."

The 28-year-old, who has represented Australia in six one-day internationals and 14 Tests, has played 55 T20 matches in his career, with a batting average of just under 30.

Burns becomes Glamorgan's second oversees player, alongside fellow Australian Usman Khawaja.
